The nurses at Holby ED head out for the night this week in Casualty, and it leads to them landing in serious trouble.

The medical drama is returning to our screens tomorrow evening after a short break. We are mid-way through the latest boxset Supply and Demand, and the staff at Holby City Hospital still haven’t worked out who is responsible for the drugs crisis.

As a result of this, rumours are starting to spread and it leads to Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) making an accusation.

Also this week, Nicole Piper (Sammy T Dobson) makes a discovery, and Rash Masum (Neet Mohan) makes more progress in his new relationship.

Here’s what’s coming up!

A night out leads to trouble

Indie (Naomi Wakszlak) and Teddy’s (Milo Clarke) tense relationship thaws after Indie manages to calm a high-risk patient who is carrying a hammer. At this point, Teddy is still struggling with his heart pains. As a result, he then puts Indie in a dangerous situation as she’s left to deal with the patient alone.

Indie then reveals she’s been offered a new job in Sheffield, but doesn’t want to say goodbye to her friends. She decides to invite a few of them out for the night including Cam (Barney Walsh) but he says no – he’s too tired. Jodie (Anna Chell) picks up on this and tells Cam that was Indie’s way of asking him out. It’s too late though, as a rejected Indie leaves the ED.

At the club, Indie dances with the nurses, Teddy and her pal Badger, who has a stash of pills. They head out together, while Teddy and Jodie enjoy their high.

Back at the hospital, Siobhan (Melanie Hill) prepares for the busiest night of the year. She bonds with a teenager called Kiaan, who is showing potential at uni, but has had a drunken accident. Not long after, Siobhan has to fight for Kiaan’s life as he passes out. She then panics and realises the party drugs have been cut with Nitazenes, unaware in the moment the nurses have taken some on their night out.

Stevie talks to Flynn in the ED in Casualty

Chaos ensues in the ED as Flynn Byron (Olly Rix), Siobhan, Stevie Nash (Elinor Lawless) and the rest of the team battle to save waves of young people who have all fallen victim to the bad batch of party drugs.

In an office, Siobhan attempts to get hold of her nurses so they can return and help with the critical incident. Frustratingly though, none of them answer because they’re too busy dancing. As Kiaan dies, Siobhan is devastated and takes her anger out on the nurses, who eventually come back into the ED. Siobhan says they all risked their careers for a wild night out, and is further hurt when Teddy, Jodie and Rida (Sarah Seggari) all point out that she can’t suspend all of them.

Eventually, the nurses apologise to Siobhan and are then left with one question – where is Indie?

The answer? She’s walking home with Badger, ignoring calls from her pals. Is Indie heading into danger?

Faith has her theories

Faith treats Arlo, who promises he’s clean from drugs now, but begs for more pain relief. Faith wonders if he’s telling the truth, or if it’s an addict seeking more drugs. Faith asks for Stevie’s opinion, but Flynn then confronts them both, berating Faith for wasting Stevie’s time on a non-emergency patient during a critical incident.

After treating a doctor who complains about not receiving any morphine, Faith questions Jacob (Charles Venn) about how much morphine he gave her. She then becomes suspicious that one of the paramedics is giving patients ineffective morphine.

Believing Arlo, Faith offers more pain relief and admits her mistake. As her shift ends, Faith confides in Iain (Michael Stevenson), convinced either Teddy, Jacob or Indie have been stealing morphine.

Nicole makes a discovery

Nicole (Sammy T Dobson) is furious when Cassie arrives in the ED with her pal Steph, and they’ve both been taking drugs. To Nicole’s horror, she then realises Cassie is one of the dealers.

Steph opens up to Nicole, talking about how she’s gifted to the dealers who make the most profit, and that she takes the pills so she doesn’t have to feel the abuse anymore.

With Cassie expressing her fears of what the gang will do to her if the drugs go missing, Nicole has no choice but to give the pills to the police. She offers Cassie a place to stay after, but she feels betrayed by Nicole and runs off to the gang.

Rash’s romance makes progress

Rash speaks to Sunny in Casualty
Things are going well for Rash! (Picture: BBC)

Rash’s date with Sunny (Jamie Marie Leary) has fallen through and Rida jokes, telling Rash they should go clubbing with them instead.

Rash tells Sunny about the clubbing but she really isn’t keen. It leads Rash to admitting that he messed up the tickets for their original booking and didn’t want to let her down.

Sunny suggests they go to her place instead – and Rash is more than happy to agree!
