Oasis fans are making history at Wembley once again – but this time, it’s not about record-breaking ticket sales; it’s about pints.
According to new figures released by Delaware North, the company behind Wembley Stadium’s catering operations, Oasis fans have set a new stadium record by guzzling more than a quarter of a million pints of beer per night during the band’s current run of shows.
That’s not a typo, that’s 250,000 pints being poured every evening the Gallagher brothers take the stage in London and put on a show many called ‘a spiritual experience.’
With three out of seven scheduled Wembley gigs completed, and two more lined up this weekend (Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3), the numbers are already staggering, and the final two dates in September are poised to push the total even higher.
To put it in perspective: Coldplay fans bought an average of 120,000 pints per show during their 2024 run at the stadium and Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour dates sold a comparatively modest 40,000 pints per night.
Oasis fans? They’ve doubled Coldplay’s numbers and outpaced Swifties by more than sixfold.
With pint prices at Wembley clocking in at £8.20, that translates to £2.05 million in beer sales every night. With approximately 80,000 attendees per gig, the average is just over three pints per person.
But with many fans opting for wine, soft drinks, or abstaining altogether, the actual beer drinkers are likely knocking back far more.
The logistics behind the scenes are no less intense. Each Oasis show reportedly requires around 4,500 kegs to be moved in and out of the stadium, prompting what The Caterer described as a ‘turf war’ behind the scenes.
With cold storage space running low, catering staff have reportedly resorted to stashing beer kegs in cupboards, under escalators, and in any available nook, a frustrating factor for the cleaning and maintenance teams.
Even the pubs surrounding Wembley have seen a surge in sales as fans flock to them before and after the shows.
While some might raise concerns about excessive drinking at concerts, for others, the numbers are a testament to the unique social energy that Oasis continues to command, with old friends reuniting and reliving their rowdy youth.
After all, this is a band whose lyrics famously toast Cigarettes & Alcohol — and whose fans now seem determined to toast right back.
