An urgent search is underway for a British tourist who vanished from a beach in northern Greece.
Michele Bourda, 59, disappeared from a sunbed on Ofrynio beach in the city pf Kavala, while her husband was sleeping.
He told Greek police that he had drifted off on the beach bar loungers, but when he woke up, she was not with him.
Michele’s personal belongings – her clothes and her bag – were there, local media have reported.
The incident happened on Friday, but so far police have been unable to trace her.
As a result, a Silver Alert was issued by the charity LifeLine Hellas after her family raised the alarm.
The public notification system is triggered about missing adults, especially those with dementia or Alzheimer’s, to help locate them safely.
The alert said: ‘Her life is in danger. If you know anything, contact the silver alert service, 24 hours a day, on the national SOS line 1065.’
Michele is described as having straight blonde hair down to her shoulders, hazel eyes, is 1.73m (5ft 6in) tall.
At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a two-piece swimsuit embellished rhinestones, yellow beach shoes and red bone-rimmed sunglasses.
The charity reported that her life was in danger and the Hellenic coastguard are continuing a search operation via sea.

Back in February Emmerdale viewers were stunned by a special episode which revealed what happened to April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) after she ran away from home.
We saw her having a tough time living on the streets and in a squat, and how she was befriended by a young man called Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle), who was also living rough.
When April returned to the village, Dylan later came looking for her. Desperate to protect his daughter, Marlon (Mark Charnock) tried to get rid of Dylan – who was battling drug addiction – by various means. Eventually Marlon agreed to pay for rehab for Dylan and the character left the village.
Now he’s back, and Fred Kettle told us what’s in store for Dylan.
‘I think Dylan’s going to get introduced with a few new characters, including Ray (Joe Absolom),’ he revealed. ‘There’s a bit of a County Lines idea there that we’re going to do which has been really fun to play. It’s Ray that actually helps him. He sort of takes him under his wing and helps him get away from drugs.
‘I think Ray’s trying to get him to gain a bit of trust. I feel like there’s a little bit of a son father figure relationship going on. So Ray can gain trust to make Dylan deal drugs, basically.’
Of course the main attraction of the village, as far as Dylan is concerned, is to see April again, as Fred explained.
‘Their bond they had during that special episode, their time on the street, it was so special,’ he said.
‘They both helped each other get through really, really tough times. And when they parted, I feel like that’s all Dylan would be able to think about, you know. So she’s bound to be on his mind and he’s bound to want to go back and see her.’
These two things are quite contrasting, on the one hand dealing drugs for Ray and on the other trying to keep his life together for April. Fred said that Dylan knows that Ray is manipulating him but it’s the best option he sees open to him: ‘Dylan knows he’s doing the wrong thing but it’s more morally correct than what he was doing when he was back on the streets.’
Whichever way the character goes, Fred is relishing the chance to explore the character some more. ‘I feel like there’s a few different routes it could go down and I’m willing to take any of them,’ he said.

Fred had some hints when he was previously at Emmerdale that the character of Dylan might have a future in the show, he revealed.
‘I think before I finished there were definitely little talks happening. It was like, “Oh you could come back.” I was like, “Yeah I’d love to.” I think it’s been perfect, really, because I’ve just finished college and two days later I was back on set filming. So it was ideal how that happened. I feel like the stars sort of aligned there.’
He’s looking forward to what’s in store for his character.
‘It’s going to be good. It’s going to be a nice journey for a few different characters actually. I think he’s going to go through a lot of emotions, experience new things and learn a lot as well.’
Max Verstappen says Lewis Hamilton was ‘scared’ after the Formula 1 rivals nearly collided during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The Dutchman was under investigation for the incident but avoided a post-race penalty from the stewards.
Lando Norris held off McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri in the closing stages of a tense race to claim victory at the Hungaroring on Sunday.
The Brit has closed the gap to his championship rival to just nine points as F1 heads on its summer break, returning at the end of August with the Dutch Grand Prix.
Further back, it was a race to forget for Verstappen who took the chequered flag in ninth place, embarrassingly finishing behind Liam Lawson in Red Bull’s junior team.
To make matters worse for the four-time champion, he was the subject of a post-race investigation for potentially forcing Hamilton off the track on lap 30.
The Red Bull attempted a bold overtake on the Ferrari down the inside of turn 4, narrowly avoiding contact, with Hamilton seemingly taking avoiding action by running wide at the corner, which in turn allowed Verstappen to get past.
Hamilton would go on to finish 12th, while the incident was noted by the stewards who, somewhat unusually, decided to settle the matter after the race.
Verstappen wasn’t impressed to discover the stewards were investigating, telling Viaplay: ‘I’m actually pretty disappointed I have to go to the stewards after the race. Just analyse it in the race.
‘I just set my nose next to him [Hamilton], he gets scared and goes off track.’
In the end, Verstappen avoided any punishment for the incident. Here is the stewards ruling in full:
‘The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 1 (Max Verstappen), team representatives and video and in-car video evidence. The driver of Car 44 (Lewis Hamilton) waived his right to attend the hearing.
‘The driver of Car 1 stated during the hearing that he had gained some momentum on Car 44 out of Turn 3 with fresher tyres and used this momentum to make a move on the inside into Turn 4.
‘He further elaborated that he was in full control of his car and could have stayed further to the inside to leave space for Car 44 on the exit. However he said, as Car 44 had gone off track, he elected to use all of the track on the exit.
‘The team representative of Car 44 confirmed that there was no contact between both cars and further stated that the driver of Car 44 chose not to attempt to remain on track.
‘Taking all this into account, the Stewards determine that there was no contact and that the incident does not qualify as forcing another car off track despite the ambitious nature of the overtaking attempt and take no further action.’
Earlier on the weekend, the Dutchman had been under investigation after throwing a towel out his car in a bizarre incident, with the stewards later issuing a formal warning to Red Bull.
Hamilton for his part didn’t seemed fussed about the matter on what was a terrible weekend for the seven-time champion, saying: ‘I don’t really remember to be honest.
‘I saw last minute he was quite close to my right wheel, so I tried to avoid a collision.’
