KwaZulu-Natal weather: High-level cloud and warm temperatures

According to the South African Weather Service, KwaZulu-Natal will experience a mix of cool to warm temperatures this week, accompanied by high-level clouds and chilly nights.

“Pietermaritzburg is expected to have daytime temperatures recovering to a mild 24°C,” said Phemelo Zonke.

Durban and the coastal regions will experience slightly warmer conditions.

“We expect Port Shepstone to peak at 26°C, and Richards Bay will also remain warm,” Zonke noted.

Cool nights, warm days across KwaZulu-Natal

The province will largely escape the strong winds forecast for the Northern Cape and Western Cape. However, the cooler nights across the interior could still challenge early commuters and the elderly.

“The cool conditions inland contrast with the relatively warm coastal zones. Ulundi is expected to reach 28°C, while areas like Kokstad will remain cooler,” said Zonke.

Despite the variation, no weather warnings have been issued for KwaZulu-Natal.

High-Level Clouds to Linger Overhead

Zonke confirmed the continuation of high-level clouds across the province.

“We will see periods of high-level cloud, especially inland, but they will not bring any rain,” she said.

This cloud cover may slightly limit daytime warmth in some areas, but overall, the province remains in a stable weather pattern with no immediate threats of severe weather.
