So, people have come up with loads of theories about who Belly is going to choose by the end of The Summer I Turned Pretty season three. TikTok is full of easter eggs: From colour theory to song lyrics, to side-by-side comparisons of scenes from season one and two. Honestly, people are treating this like it’s a crime drama.
But a new theory has started circulating since episode four dropped. No, it has nothing to do with Belly, Conrad or Jeremiah. In fact, it’s about Belly’s best friend, Taylor.
According to TikTok, Taylor might be pregnant, and people think the show has been leaving subtle hints about it all season long.
So, where did the theory come from?

As we’ve seen so far, Taylor has been tangled up in a messy relationship with Steven, Belly’s older brother. The two were hooking up in secret after the four-year time jump, despite both having other partners. But following Steven’s accident and short coma, he woke up and told Taylor he was done with the back-and-forth, breaking things off.
Of course, people aren’t convinced it’s really over. In fact, many believe the drama between Steven and Taylor is just beginning. And that Taylor’s pregnancy might be the big plot twist we didn’t see coming.
The subtle clues people have picked up on

After episode four, TikTok sleuths pointed out a few moments that they believe are signs Taylor could be pregnant:
- She was extra moody and craving extra food at the café with Belly.
- Her strange reaction when her mum said, “I’m the mum”, followed by a long look and an awkward subject change.
- A camera shot that very deliberately focused on her stomach.
- She was also doing a bit of nervous sniffing, which viewers clocked as a tell.
- The wedding scene teased in the season three trailer might actually be Steven and Taylor’s, suggesting the pregnancy leads to a rushed marriage.
It does sound convincing, but neither Jenny Han nor the actors have spoken about it yet. And if Taylor is actually pregnant, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen that kind of story. Laurel, Belly and Steven’s mum, married John soon after finding out she was pregnant with Steven. And it’s suggested that Taylor’s mum, Lucinda, also had her young. So this twist would not only mirror their parents’ pasts, but give Steven and Taylor the chance to break, or repeat, those cycles.
