Sally fears the worst after making shock discovery in Coronation Street

Despite having been against the idea of becoming a foster parent to begin with, Coronation Street’s Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) has taken to it like a duck to water.

However, that doesn’t mean there haven’t been challenges along the way.

Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) recently took in the Michaelis kids, after parents Mick and Lou were both sent to prison.

Though Sally and Tim have tried their best to keep them happy, sisters Joanie and Shanice have been involved in altercations more than once.

In tonight’s episode, Sally and Tim were startled by a crash from the living room, only to discover that Joanie had thrown a TV remote at Shanice.

After sending Joanie up to her room to think about her actions, Sally was horrified to discover that Shanice was covered in bruises.

It was clear that Sally was torn about the best thing to do, though Tim was certain they could handle the situation themselves.

When Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) arrived home after spending the day with biological dad Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), Sally and Tim confided in him about the girls’ behaviour.

As Sally revealed that she had found bruises on Shanice, Tim pointed out that she had told them they’d come from falling over at school.

Brody agreed with Shanice’s version of events, insisting that this was a one off and the sisters had never fought like that before, though viewers know that this is a lie.

Brody previously walked in on Joanie picking on Shanice, but warned the girls not to fight again or they may be taken away from Sally and Tim.

It was clear that Brody was still concerned about this, as he immediately shut down Sally’s suggestion of letting social services know what happened.

Brody was clearly worried that the girls would be split up if social services got involved, so he continued to insist that Shanice’s bruises couldn’t have been caused by Joanie.

With Sally, Tim and Brody all having different ideas of how to move forward, Tim suggested they sleep on it and make a final decision in the morning.

Will Sally get social services involved, or will she go along with Brody’s wishes?
