Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has revealed some heartbreaking news to Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) in Emmerdale.
The beloved character has been feeling quite overwhelmed in recent days, as Sarah and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) have done nothing but fuss over her. Charity has agreed to carry their baby, but Sarah and Jacob’s attempt at looking out for her has felt quite smothering.
In this evening’s episode, wanting some time to herself, Charity suggested that Jacob and Sarah organise an engagement party in the pub.
As prep began, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) kept checking in on Charity. Yesterday, the couple went for a walk but Charity fell over, which caused Mack to wonder if the recent embryo transfer would be impacted.
Charity felt fine, but things quickly changed as the party got underway.
Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) spied Charity looking worried and followed her into the toilets. There, Charity confirmed that she had started bleeding.
Charity kept this a secret from Sarah until the end of the party. Once Sarah returned to Jacobs Fold, Charity told her the news, and that she doesn’t think the embryo has taken.
Sarah was upset and thought Charity was wrong but she knows her body – it doesn’t look like this has worked.

In upcoming episodes, once Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) discovers the development, he’s quick to tell Sarah and Charity that he can pay for the next transfer.
Sarah is grateful and the embryo transfer goes ahead. The following day, Charity is confirmed pregnant.
As an elated Sarah plans a celebration in the Woolpack to announce her news, privately, Charity secretly sinks into despair.
