There’s a certain type of character who walks into a scene and instantly changes the temperature. That’s exactly what Billie Piper, as Isadora Capri, is doing in Wednesday season two.
Netflix’s second season of the Addams Family spinoff has already gone full throttle with big-name casting, Joanna Lumley, Steve Buscemi, and actual Lady Gaga. But while some are still wondering when Lady Gaga is actually going to appear, it’s Piper’s low-key arrival that has everyone else side-eyeing the plot with suspicion. Because nobody casts Billie Piper for a background role.
So, who is Isadora Capri in Wednesday season two?

She’s the new music teacher in Nevermore with a sharp tongue and even sharper instincts. When we meet her in the first episode of season two, she’s already locked in a war of words with Wednesday, and holding her own, no less. A win for chaotic adult supervision everywhere.
More importantly, Netflix has confirmed Isadora is a werewolf. And as it turns out, a very necessary mentor for Enid Sinclair, who’s still adjusting to her post-transformation reality. Enid had her own furry glow-up last season.
Billie Piper is definitely the perfect fit

You don’t cast Billie Piper, former pop icon, former Doctor Who companion (and now, Doctor Who herself), and star of Secret Diary of a Call Girl, unless you’re trying to create a character with serious shady energy. Which is exactly what Wednesday season two seems to be doing with Isadora.
What makes Isadora compelling is that she doesn’t immediately slot into any one category. She’s an artist, a supernatural guide, and maybe something more, depending on where the season goes.
Netflix has teased that her backstory is “important.” And she is described as an “accomplished musician with an interesting past.” Now, if this woman doesn’t have at least one connection to the deep, dark, probably-magical secrets of Nevermore’s history, I’ll eat my metaphorical hat.
Also, people are already theorising that she’ll become some sort of reluctant ally to Wednesday, or maybe a morally grey antagonist with a tragic backstory. Either way, she’s about to become our next obsession.
It’s not clear yet whether she’s here to help or disrupt, but one thing’s for sure: The show just got a lot more interesting.
