Young Stunna’s rocky relationship with Zim fans deepens after latest no-show

South African Amapiano star Young Stunna has once again found himself at the centre of controversy in Zimbabwe after failing to appear at a much-anticipated weekend gig.

This has reignited tensions that have brewed over multiple visits.

Young Stunna pulls out of Zimbabwe show

The ‘Adiwele‘ hitmaker was billed to perform at Fiesta Fiesta alongside Sha Sha, but his absence, blamed on an ‘unforeseen family emergency’, turned what had been an energetic night into chaos.

As reported by H-Metro, fans, who had been waiting since early afternoon, reacted angrily, with some hurling bottles at the stage and damaging property.

Young Stunna issued a ‘heartfelt’ apology.

“It is with much regret that we announce the postponement of my performances this weekend scheduled for 8th – 10th August 2025 due to an unforeseen family emergency.

“We understand this may have caused great inconvenience for the promoter, their sponsors as well as the fans / supporters, therefore we truly apologies.”

Fans react to artist’s cancelled performance

“Posting your cancellation after the show is crazy when fans have been waiting since 1 pm for you. You hate Zimbabwe,” one disgruntled supporter wrote online.

Another added, “The least you could have done was tell us about the emergency before the show, not after seeing an angry crowd.”

While some social media users expressed sympathy, wishing the artist well if his emergency was genuine, many accused him of showing disregard for Zimbabwean audiences.

Young Stunna’s previous visits to Zimbabwe

This is not the first flashpoint. In 2023, Young Stunna’s no-show at Bulawayo’s Shorts and Shades event sparked similar unrest, with angry fans throwing objects onto the stage.

In 2022, a bottle allegedly struck him during a performance in the country.

Despite his chart-topping hits like Bopha and Adiwele, Young Stunna’s visits to Zimbabwe have become synonymous with disappointment for many concertgoers — a troubling pattern that risks further straining his relationship with a once-loyal fan base.

Is Young Stunna being unfairly judged, or do fans have a point?
