Sean Nicholson, the eldest grandchild of Hollywood legend Jack Nicholson, is facing serious legal trouble after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, leaving her with severe facial injuries.
The 29-year-old techno producer, who performs under the name Cutter Mattock, was arrested on August 5 following a July 23 incident at his Venice, California apartment.
According to a police report obtained by People, Sean – who is the son of Jack’s daughter Jennifer Nicholson -is accused of knocking 28-year-old Elizabeth Lawlor unconscious during an altercation that broke her tooth.
Elizabeth later posted a photograph of her injury on Instagram with the caption: ‘This summer gave me PTSD.’
Authorities say Sean grabbed Lawlor by the neck and head during a heated argument, throwing her into a hard object.
Elizabeth, a psychology student at Pepperdine University, claims she briefly blacked out before realizing her tooth was broken.
After fleeing the apartment, she says Sean escorted her back inside, where she documented her injuries and sent the images to his mother, designer Jennifer Nicholson, who then called 911.
‘Victim stated that she blacked out and when she opened her eyes realized her tooth had broken,’ the report reads.
Emergency responders transported Elizabeth to Marina Del Rey Hospital, where she underwent oral surgery and received stitches for other facial wounds.
The police report also states that Elizabeth and Sean had been in an on-and-off relationship between 2023 and 2024.
Sean, who has no prior criminal record, posted $50,000 bail after his arrest. He faces felony charges of corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – in this case, police say, his ‘hands, feet, and teeth.’
If convicted, he could serve up to four years in state prison. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 26.
Sean Norfleet Nicholson is the son of Jennifer Nicholson – Jack Nicholson’s eldest child – and her former husband, Mark Norfleet.
Jennifer was born in 1963 during his marriage to Sandra Knight. In 1970, he fathered son Caleb Goddard with Five Easy Pieces co-star Susan Anspach, and in 1981 welcomed daughter Honey Hollman with model Winnie Hollman, who raised Honey in Denmark.
Nicholson later had two children – Lorraine and Ray – with actress Rebecca Broussard, and in 1994 became father to his youngest daughter, Tessa Gourin, with Jennine Gourin, though the two have remained largely estranged.
Jack Nicholson, now 88 and retired from acting for many years, is among the most legendary living film stars. Over a career spanning six decades, he has won three Academy Awards, six Golden Globes.
Sean’s next court date has not yet been scheduled, and neither he nor his representatives have issued a public statement regarding the allegations.
