Four bodies have been found floating in the River Seine, in the outskirts of Paris.
A commuter alerted French police after spotting – from the window of theRER C train he was travelling in – what appeared to be the body of a man.
He sounded the alarm and directed emergency services to a street along the river in the town of Choisy-le-Roi, Val-de-Marne.
Police were dispatched to the scene and the body of a man was found in the water.
A second body – located just about 50 metres from the first – was spotted shortly after.
Upon further investigation, a third body was then pulled out from branches alongside the river, and finally a fourth, drifting with the current.
Le Parisien reported that the four victims were adult men. Three were fully clothed, while a fourth was naked/
It is understood they had been submerged in the River Seine for a few days before the discovery.
Meanwhile, Actu17 reported that three of the men are of African descent and a fourth of North African descent.
They have since been transported to the Paris Institute of Forensic Medicine for identification and autopsy.
