CBS is bringing together two of its biggest reality shows this fall as The Amazing Race welcomes 13 Big Brother fan-favorite houseguests — and their travel companions — to compete in a high-stakes European adventure.
Hosted by Phil Keoghan, the Emmy-winning competition series premieres with a 90-minute premiere on Thursday, September 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It will then move to its regular Wednesday time slot on October 1 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
The Houseguests-turned-Racers will kick off the season in Amsterdam where — in a first for TAR — teams face their opening challenge before even reaching the starting line. The fastest team will earn a coveted Express Pass, while the slowest will be hit with a Hazard penalty.
From there, the race takes contestants to Prague for a challenge that pushes them to “new heights,” Budapest for a royal-inspired bathing experience, and Romania for an exhilarating skydive from 13,000 feet. In this first look trailer, you can see some of those tasks.
The Season 38 cast consists of multiple Big Brother winners including season 24’s Taylor Hale, season 25’s Jag Bains and season 26’s Chelsie Baham. Scroll down to see the full cast photos and bios!
“The Amazing Race takes the Racers and viewers on an unforgettable journey,” co-creators and executive producers Bertram van Munster and Elise Doganieri said in a press release. “With a traveling crew of over 100 people, over the course of 38 seasons, we have traveled to nearly 100 countries and over 1 million miles — an extraordinary feat of storytelling and logistics. For this season, it was fun to bring the former Big Brother players out of the house and on an adventure in the real world, as the Race is a global triumph that continues to inspire and connect people all over the world.”
The Amazing Race season 38 airs on CBS Thursday, September 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Episodes will stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ Premium subscribers, with Essential-tier subscribers able to watch the next day.
