No one books a flight ticket with the thought that they may be injured during their journey, but sometimes weird things happen.
Just ask Savannah Gowarty, a New York City luxury real estate agent and star of Netflix’s Owning Manhattan. Recently, Gowarty flew from New York to Lisbon, Portugal, but got a little bit more than she bargained for in the trip.
In a viral TikTok video, the Raleigh, North Carolina native revealed that she chipped one of her teeth when the center partition divider went up while Gowarty was attempted to talk to her seatmate.
As a result, Gowarty needed dental surgery to repair the damage.
“I was taken very well care of and delta covered everything!” she clarified in the caption.

The cause of the malfunction is unclear. Gowarty claimed that Delta momentarily disabled all of the dividers pending an investigation, but a Delta flight attendant in the comments said they remain in use in business class on all of the company’s planes.
Gowarty, who boasts over 38,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 52,000 on Instagram, has been documenting many of her travels this summer. Among the places she visited were Italy and Portugal.
Then a real estate agent for SERHANT, Gowarty was a star of the first season of Owning Manhattan. However, she likely won’t be featured on the show’s second installment, as she now works at Compass, a rival agency.
This isn’t her first plane incident
Back in 2024, Gowarty went viral when she shared a video from inside a JetBlue cabin. In the clip, there was a visible fine mist in the air and Gowarty said it seemed “to be raining in the cabin.”
However, JetBlue had another explanation for the issue.
“The condensation or mist is common, especially in humid climates, and does not cause wetness inside the aircraft,” the airline said.
“We believe the customers were wet due to heavy rain that occurred as they were boarding via an outside ramp and stairs.”
