Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) has been lying to April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) from the moment he returned to Emmerdale.
Dylan originally lied to April about having a flat and a decent job when all along he has been sleeping rough and doing jobs for bad man Ray Walters (Joe Absolom). He also lied about being on the straight and narrow.
April discovered he was bunking down in the cricket pavilion and eventually came to learn that the infected gammy wound on his leg was due to him being the intruder who tried to do over Moira’s (Natalie J Robb) farm.
When pushed, Dylan confessed to working with Ray, and then admitted Ray wanted her involved as well. April felt forced to agree to keep Dylan safe.
Not the best starts for these two and their fledgling romance, but it seemed that once everything was out in the open that it was all A-OK.
But Dylan is still lying to April, who is in desperate need of honesty. Dylan is trying to get back on the straight and narrow by rejecting Ray and applying for jobs, but he takes a big knock when he gets a rejection.
As April leaves him to cope with the knock back, Dylan sees Ray’s name on his phone.
He thinks he’s managed to extricate himself from Ray’s business, but Ray knows differently. Ray offers him a gig with some easy money, knowing it’ll drag a desperate Dylan back in.

April grows bored with her apprenticeship and decides to go back to school, which sees the full backing of Dylan.
She’s encouraged by his support but has no idea that Ray has got his claws back into Dylan.
Dylan is manipulated into doing another job, and feeling crushed by a sense of guilt at lying to April once again.
Could this be the job that goes wrong and ruins everything for Dylan?
