The hit Prime Video series, Fallout, is returning for Season 2 faster than you might think. The next batch of episodes will start streaming in December 2025, and ahead of that release, Prime Video has revealed new photos for the show. And among those photos are two interesting snaps of Walton Goggins looking nothing like the Ghoul at all.
What’s going on here? Are we getting more flashbacks in Fallout Season 2? Or is something else at work here?
New Walton Goggins Fallout Season 2 images

In two of the photos, previewing Fallout Season 2, we get glimpses of Walton Goggins looking very fresh-faced. This is in contrast to his normal look in Fallout, in which his character, the Ghoul, has had half his face burned off sometime during the war, which exists in the backstory of Fallout. We know from Season 1 that the Ghoul was originally known as Cooper Howard, but it seems from the new photos that we’ll get even more deep-dive flashbacks into his past.
Otherwise, how can we explain his appearance? Is it a dream? Is the Ghoul wearing a disguise? Right now, the images don’t have much context, so fans will have to draw their own conclusions until the show starts streaming at the end of the year.

Fallout Season 2 release schedule
Back in 2024, Fallout Season 1 released all eight of its episodes on the same day, April 10. Not all Prime Video series drop entire seasons on the same day, but it stands to reason that’s exactly what will happen with Fallout Season 2.
As of this writing, there’s no exact date for the Fallout Season 2 release. But sometime in December 2025, the show will be back.
