Glenfiddich has always had a knack for merging tradition with reinvention. This fall, the Speyside distillery unveils a new limited-edition 16-Year-Old single malt Scotch whisky, created in partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team. It’s not just a bottle release, but the continuation of a story about speed, precision, and the kind of craftsmanship that has less to do with timecards and more to do with intuition.

The whisky itself is built on a triptych of cask types—American oak wine casks, new American barrels, and second-fill bourbon. The resulting profile leans rich and layered, with maple syrup and caramelized ginger leading the way. Bottled at 43% ABV, it’s a kind of malt that insists on a longer conversation, like an engine cooling in pit lane after a hard push.
“This release marks an exciting milestone in our journey with the Aston Martin Formula One Team,” said Claudia Falcone, Glenfiddich Global Brand Director. ““Through this collaboration we invite enthusiasts worldwide to engage with these iconic brands in bold new ways and create memorable moments that reach far beyond the racetrack. This limited-edition bottling is just the beginning as we continue to write the next chapter together.”
Tasting Notes
On the nose, the whisky is rich and beautifully sweet with a biscuity cheesecake base, maple syrup, and caramelized ginger alongside subtle toasted oak notes. The palate is indulgent and confectionary sweet with a silky, syrupy mouthfeel and notes of Chantilly cream. The finish is smooth with a sustained sweetness.
Glenfiddich and Aston Martin F1 Partnership
Glenfiddich
It isn’t Glenfiddich’s first lap around the track. The distillery announced its multi-year partnership with Aston Martin F1 in late 2024, officially debuting the collaboration under the neon floodlights of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Since then, the alliance has been less about logos on carbon fiber and more about a shared vocabulary: heritage, performance, design.
Malt Master Brian Kinsman put it in his own terms: “At Glenfiddich, we’re committed to creating exceptional whiskies that honor tradition while embracing innovation. The Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old is a true testament to this philosophy. It combines craftsmanship and precision in a whisky that invites exploration and discovery, much like the journey of our partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team. It’s a celebration of blending tradition with the thrill of innovation.”
A Limited Edition Release
That sense of exploration is underscored by scarcity. Only a limited number of bottles will reach shelves globally starting September 2025, and are priced at $75. Consider it a whisky for collectors and drinkers alike, straddling that tension between keeping a bottle sealed and pouring it into a heavy glass on a Saturday night.
In the end, the Glenfiddich 16-Year-Old Aston Martin Edition isn’t about choosing between tradition and innovation. It’s about inhabiting both at once, like a driver reading the track while trusting muscle memory to take the corner.
