‘Peacemaker’ Snags Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Ahead of Season 2 Release Date – Bundlezy

‘Peacemaker’ Snags Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Ahead of Season 2 Release Date

After three long years away, John Cena’s foul-mouthed, gun-totting anti-hero known as Peacemaker is back. And in Season 2, it’s a whole new DC Comics universe, and nothing is the same anymore. Accept, of course, much of what makes Peacemaker such a strange and unique show is the same: There’s plenty of violence, action, and humor, but also, this time around, some more heartfelt soul-searching, as well as light multiverse action.

But, you don’t have to take our word for it; ahead of its fast-approaching Season 2 debut date, Peacemaker‘s Rotten Tomatoes score has been revealed. Here’s what that means and when to watch the new episodes of the show. No spoilers ahead.

Peacemaker Season 2’s Near-Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score

As of Tuesday, August 19, 2025, the Rotten Tomatoes score for Peacemaker Season 2 is 97 percent. This is down three points from an initial debut score of 100 percent. Right now, Rotten Tomatoes is counting 38 reviews total, which is likely only a fraction of the number of reviews that will be published after the show actually drops.

This exceptionally high score marks a notable winning streak for writer/director James Gunn. Last year, his animated DC series, Creature Commandos, got a 95 percent score, while the recently released Superman movie is sitting at 83 percent.

Peacemaker Season 2 Streaming Date and Time

The first episode of Peacemaker Season 2 will be released on HBO Max on Friday, August 21. The exact time the episode will start streaming is 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This matches the release time for previous HBO Max shows like The White Lotus.

Peacemaker Season 2 will consist of eight episodes total, with just one episode released weekly. Interestingly, although some members of the press have seen the first five episodes of the new season (including Men’s Journal), James Gunn has said publicly that even journalists won’t get access to the last three episodes of the series.

So, expect some very big twists this season, and, if you want to avoid spoilers, be careful on Friday nights for a while.
