AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – On August 20th, around 1:10 am the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 1100 block of New Savannah Road in reference to shots fired in the area.
While en route, the call was upgraded to two victims being shot.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a woman and a 3-year-old child with gun shot wounds.
The victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Richmond County Coroner, Mark Bowen, responded to Wellstar/ MCG ER and pronounced the child dead at 2:20 am.
