Eamonn Holmes has apologised after using a vile racial slur to describe Kerry Katona’s cosmetic surgery live on GB News.
The former This Morning presenter, 65, was debating plastic surgery on the morning talk show with Katona, 44.
However, after the former Atomic Kitten star showed off the results of her facelift one year on, Holmes left his talk show guests speechless by asking whether or not she looked ‘Oriental’.
Kerry explained her facelift by saying: ‘I had them done over a year ago now. You know all it was I could… it was making my eyes feel a bit heavy so I had an uplift. But what I don’t like is when…’
Eamonn then interrupted, asking: ‘And you don’t look Oriental or anything do you?’
As Kerry was left speechless, the other guest on the show and Holmes’s fellow presenter Ellie Costello could be seen sharing uncomfortable looks.
Eamonn was then seemingly forced by show bosses to apologise live on air, but he did not appear to be happy to do so.
He said: ‘Apparently you’re not allowed to describe someone as looking oriental or… I don’t know how I would end up describing Kerry Katona if her eyes change shape.
‘I don’t know how I’m going to say does she look like someone from some other country in the eastern of the world… The world is ridiculous.
‘How you have to apologise for people… if she painted herself or… I don’t know I can’t get into this. But anyway.’
Before he could continue, his co-host Ellie added: ‘But Kerry looks beautiful.’
Eamonn then replied: ‘Kerry looks well,’ before adding: ‘I’m sorry if you don’t look well or we have offended you in any way or… oh I don’t know.’
