The upcoming loose spinoff of The Office is coming very soon to Peacock, but now, the series will be dropping all of its episodes at once. The Paper Season 1 will now release all 10 episodes at the same time, according toVariety. Here’s what to know about the series, when it comes out, and what it’s about and whether or not this news streaming schedule is a godo thing. No spoilers ahead
The Paper Release Date
The spinoff to the American version of The Office,The Paper, hits Peacock on September 4. All 10 episodes will drop out at once, which is an unexpected change. Also, in contrast, the popular American TV series, 10 episodes, is about half the length of an average season of that show. That said, the first season in 2005 was only 6 episodes, and the U.K. series, which created The Office, was just 12 episodes in total, across 2 seasons.

What is The Paper About?
While not a direct sequel to The Office, the setup of The Paper is that the same documentary crew who filmed The Office is now doing a different documentary on a newspaper. The show stars Domhnall Gleeson as a journalist who takes over a newspaper in Ohio as the editor-in-chief. Oscar Nuñez is back from The Office as accountant Oscar Martinez.
Rather than a sitcom about a paper company, this series will be a sitcom about a newspaper. Will it work? When streaming TV first became viable, releasing all episodes at the same time was always a good thing. But now, that kind of release schedule is a mixed blessing. For fans, bingeing the entire show is possible right away. But, it remains to be seen how long The Paper will stay in the conversation after it drops.
Both versions of The Office stream on Peacock.
