Kim Kardashian fans have defended the star after her 12-year-old daughter North West wore an outfit some dubbed ‘inappropriate’.
North, daughter to Kim, 44, and Kanye West, 48, enjoyed a meal out in Rome with her famous mother on Saturday wearing a corseted top, fabulous long blue hair, a skirt and chunky boots, leading to comments that the pre-teen was dressed too old for her age.
In response Kim fans have flocked to social media to defend the mother-of-four and her eldest child.
‘It’s literally not up to Kim to shield her children from weirdos. It’s up to the general public to not be weird,’ said @ALRDY0VER on X in reaction to those saying her clothes were not age-appropriate.
‘Maybe YOU GUYS are the problem,’ agreed @debt2Urwallet, while @AbigailJoyFloat said: ‘Love that Northie has her own style.’
‘If you find anything inappropriate about this outfit, you need to be in therapy!’ said @IAMTONYYK.
It’s not the first time a 12-year-old daughter of the rich and famous has caused an unjustified uproar on social media, after Blue Ivy Carter – Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter joined the Cuff It hitmaker on tour, and people took offence at her outfits.
Kim and Kanye were married from 2014 to 2022 and share four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Kim filed for divorce from the Gold Digger rapper in February 2021, six years after they tied the knot.
Since their split, the All Falls Down hitmaker’s behaviour has come into question, with his horrific antisemitic tirades on social media and question marks over whether his relationship with his wife Bianca Censori is controlling.
Bianca, a 30-year-old architect who met her husband while working at his Yeezy brand, has made headlines in scantily clad outfits next to a covered up Kanye.
This outing from Kim and North comes after a new teaser trailer dropped for a documentary In Whose Name? which follows Kanye’s increasingly erratic and problematic behaviour.
It will be shown through thousands of hours of footage taken by filmmaker Nico Ballesteros over the past six years.
At one point in the documentary Kanye can be heard saying he stopped taking medication for his bipolar disorder: ‘I’m off my meds for five months now.’
At another point Kim’s audibly emotional voice can be heard tearfully saying: ‘Your personality was not like this a few years ago.’
In 2020, Kim addressed her husband’s behavior in a social media post after he faced backlash for an antisemitic rant. She wrote: ‘As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder.
‘Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand.’
She continued, saying he is a ‘brilliant but complicated person’ whose ‘words sometimes do not align with his intentions.’
