Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged—and Krispy Kreme is helping fans celebrate with a sugar-coated surprise. The doughnut chain announced it will give away free doughnuts on Monday, Aug. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m. local time at participating U.S. shops, in honor of the couple’s headline-making engagement.
A Love Story Worth Glazing Over
The pair shared their news with a five-photo Instagram carousel featuring Kelce on one knee surrounded by a bed of flowers. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they wrote in the caption, adding a dose of humor to the big reveal. One photo offered a close-up of the custom ring: an old mine brilliant cut by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry.
Fans and fellow celebrities flooded the comments with congratulations, but it’s the Krispy Kreme celebration that’s sending things over the top—adding another memorable chapter to one of pop culture’s most-watched relationships.
The beloved donut chain took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate with a big freebie. “FREE doughnuts for the class,” it wrote. However, there’s a specific time you can go claim yours. “Offer available 8/26 from 5 -7 PM only at participating U.S. Krispy Kreme shops only and is subject to product availability. From Bracelet Flop to Power Couple
Their story began with a missed connection. Kelce tried to gift Swift a friendship bracelet during her Kansas City stop on the Eras Tour in 2023, but didn’t make it past security. He vented about the snub on his “New Heights” podcast. Swift heard about it, reached out, and the rest is rom-com gold.
The singer publicly supported Kelce at 13 Chiefs games, including Super Bowl LVIII. In return, the NFL star followed her on the road, attending 14 Eras Tour stops across the globe—from Argentina to Indianapolis.
The Lyrics Don’t Lie
Throughout the tour, Swift embedded her love story into her set list. She famously changed the lyrics of “Karma” to “guy on the Chiefs” when Kelce was in the crowd, and even sang a special mashup including “Mary’s Song,” which eerily predicts the numbers 87 and 89—Kelce’s jersey and her birth year.
Their love story continued offstage. Kelce called Swift his “first mate” on Instagram in July and gushed about her work ethic and values in a GQ profile published Aug. 12. “We’re just two people that are in love,” he said. “It happened very organically.”
And now? It’s glazed, sealed, and delivered—with a free doughnut on the side courtesy of Krispy Kreme.
