The last time someone got married in EastEnders, the day ended with Martin Fowler (James Bye) dying amid the rubble of the Queen Vic following a devastating explosion.

Sadly, the Walford wedding curse looks set to continue next week as Yolande and Patrick Trueman’s (Angela Wynter and Rudolph Walker) nuptials are the scene of more deadly drama for the residents of Albert Square.

New spoilers have revealed that one life will be left hanging in the balance after someone is shot amid the celebrations.

The shock scenes unfold after Yolande and Patrick’s ceremony, which itself is fraught with drama, as Patrick remains adamant he will not go through with it following his recent attack

Everyone pulls together to try and get the wedding back on track, but as the guests await the couple’s arrival, no one is sure if Patrick will show.

Eventually, he turns up and the loved-up couple tie the knot in front of all their family and friends, before heading back to The Queen Vic for the reception.

But little does everyone know the horror that is in store…

Having found the gun Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) hid for Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and his drug gang, Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) corners his uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) to help him get rid of it.

However, Ravi overhears their conversation and later breaks into No. 27 to retrieve it.

After former lover Denise Fox (Diane Parish) catches him, she rushes to tell Jack, who quickly puts two and two together and realises he owns the gun.

After Jack heads off to confront him, a gunshot soon rings out…

Word soon spreads, and the partygoers at the Vic are stunned when they learn who has been shot – but fans will have to wait to find out who the mystery victim is and if they survive their ordeal.

But if one thing is for sure, it’s that EastEnders weddings should come with a serious danger warning.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 1 September at 7.30pm on BBC One or stream first from 6am on iPlayer.
