Emma Stone’s face looks so different in Bugonia press, and this might be the reason why

You know we’re fast approaching awards season, because just like every year, Emma Stone is back doing press for a film you’ve never heard of that will no doubt win Oscars. This time around, it’s Bugonia.

Directed by Yorgos Lanthimos, who also helmed Emma Stone‘s iconic Poor Things project from 2023, Bugonia is a dark comedy about two conspiracy theorists who kidnap a high-powered CEO over fears she’s secretly an alien. It’s already got 100 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, and while everyone is talking about Emma Stone’s bald head, the press rounds have once again ignited speculation about a possible facelift.

Okay, so has Emma Stone had a facelift?

Rumours of Emma Stone’s alleged facelift first began to swirl after the premiere of Eddington, a Western comedy that premiered in July. Along with cast members such as Pedro Pascal, Joaquin Phoenix, and Austin Butler, Emma was pictured looking as fresh-faced as ever on the red carpet.

Amidst the rampant speculation, London-based aesthetics doctor, Jonny Betteridge, posted his taken in a now-viral video.

He said: “‘At 36, and at the recent Eddington film premiere, her face looked noticeably more defined and facelifted. Her brows sit higher, especially the tails, the eyelids are more visible, and her eyes have an almond-like shape.

“Looking from her four years ago, these changes could be consistent with an upper blepharoplasty and an endoscopic temporal brow lift and mid face lift.”

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that sees a doctor remove excess skin from the eyelids to give the person wider, doe-like eyes. Alongside a brow lift, which is performed by pulling the muscles of the upper face, he theorised that Emma’s facial structure was completely changed.

“Incisions are well hidden in the hairline, temporal area, or inside the mouth, which helps to reduce visible scarring,” he added, further noting how Emma’s face matched patients he had seen in recent studies. “These patients show similar anatomical shifts, lifted brows and mid-face, and an almond-like appearance to their eyes. And these are common results of an endoscopic facelift.”

All of these procedures cost over $5k, but let’s be honest, she’s got the dollar with a projected net worth of $40 million.

Emma Stone’s representatives have been approached for comment.
