Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are opening a new restaurant in Kansas City, Missouri. The steakhouse, 1587 Prime, will be located in the Loews Hotel at 1500 Baltimore Avenue, and is named after their Kansas City Chiefs’ jersey numbers, 15 and 87.
According to the restaurant’s website, which is adorned with a “coming soon to Kansas City” message when visiting, is “a contemporary steakhouse from NFL legends Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, created in partnership with Noble 33 and infused with the spirit of Kansas City”. Noble 33 is a hospitality management company based in Plano, Texas.
The restaurant will reportedly feature a steak flight experience with a sampling of a wagyu filet, Black Angus ribeye and Japanese New York strip; A5 Carpaccio with pickled mushrooms, pine nuts and truffles; a diablo shrimp appetizer; a chopped salad; and tuna tartare with ponzu, avocado and chili oil.
News broke this week on 1587’s Instagram page that their cocktail menu will feature a sweet gesture to a Taylor Swift song. The post was captioned “the cocktails you won’t stop talking about – and for good reason” and showcases The Alchemy, a refreshing cucumber and orange peel cocktail.
Swift’s song, The Alchemy is believed to be about her relationship with Kelce, featured on her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, which has nods to football. “So when I touch down, call the amateurs and cut ‘em from the team. Ditch the clown, get the crown. Baby I’m the one to beat”, read a few of the lyrics.
The Instagram video with the words “the first sip” scrolled at the beginning also featured an old-fashioned cocktail and “their version of shrimp cocktail” with a flight of sauces. Mahomes nodded in approval after sipping the cocktails.
Fans are apparently thrilled with the announcement, commenting “Counting down the days!” and “So looking forward to trying one! 4 weeks to go”. And “Wow! I’m going to HAVE to fly in to try this one” and “KC is sooooo ready for this”. “The Alchemy, a nod to Taylor?” said another person.
Kelce and Mahomes announced their restaurant venture in March 2024, describing it as a “unique modern American steakhouse”. The restaurant images on the 1587 website show fluted wood and black and white marbled walls, a curved edge bar with brushed gold light fixtures and rolled arm and leather bar stools with modern carved art set behind.
1587 Steakhouse will open on September 17, 2025. You can now make reservations, purchase gift cards and inquire about private events on their website.
