‘Giddy’ Travis Kelce Breaks Silence on Taylor Swift Engagement

Unless you’ve been living under the proverbial rock for the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably heard by now that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are engaged.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the Midnights singer officially announced their engagement last Tuesday in a record-setting Instagram post. Since then, plenty has been said and written about their future wedding, but we haven’t heard from the happy couple themselves.

Last week’s “New Heights” podcast episode was recorded before the news went public, which means this week’s edition of the Kelce brothers’ show was the first time Travis could comment on the good news.

Not surprisingly, the 35-year-old perennial All-Pro is fired up.

‘Giddy’ Kelce makes excitement clear.

It’s pretty obvious that Travis Kelce is a “big fiancée guy” on his way to becoming a “big wife guy.”

“In case you missed the Instagram post heard ’round the world, Travis and Taylor are engaged! Yay!” Jason Kelce joked on the latest “New Heights” episode.

“That’s right, that’s right. And I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” Travis responded. “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with.”

Reportedly, Kelce and Swift actually got engaged a couple of weeks before the news broke. Now that it’s out, Travis added that “it’s been awesome” calling the “Anti-Hero” performer his “fiancée” officially.

“I felt that at the game, actually,” he said, discussing the Nebraska-Cincinnati game he attended last week alongside Swift and several Kansas City teammates. “It was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancée to a few of my teammates. So yeah, it was pretty cool.”

Asked by his brother if he still “gets giddy’ saying fiancée, Travis confirmed he does.

Jason hoping to be best man

For now, Travis’ immediate focus is on the Chiefs’ upcoming season, which gets underway Friday night in Brazil against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Wedding planning is likely in the infancy stages, as Jason indicated this week that he still doesn’t know if he’ll be his brother’s best man, a role he’d love to fill.

“First of all, hopefully I’m the best man,” Jason said on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast. “We’ll see. Travis has a lot of friends. I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.”
