Orlando Bloom is finally speaking out about his split from pop star and former fiancée Katy Perry. The 48-year-old actor has kept his lips sealed since he confirmed the end of their relationship back in early July, after officially breaking up in late June.
While promoting his recent movie, The Cut, with Today’s Craig Melvin on Friday, September 5, Bloom was asked how he was doing amid some recent changes in his personal life. The question was obviously in reference to Perry.
“I’m great, man. I’m so grateful,” replied Bloom. We have the most beautiful daughter. You know when you leave everything on the field like I did in this movie? I feel grateful for all of it.”
He concluded the conversation with, “”And we’re great. We’re going to be great. Nothing but love.”
When they confirmed the end of their relationship, reps for Perry commented, “Katy has every intention of maintaining a positive and respectful relationship with Orlando,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. “He’s the father of their daughter and that will always come first for her.”
The couple first sparked rumors of their relationship in January 2016 after being seen together at a Golden Globes after-party. They reprotedley split in 2017 and remained friends, until reconciling and going public in 2018. Bloom popped the question on Valentine’s Day in 2019 and welcomed their daughter Daisy a year later.
It appears that when it comes to breakups, Bloom is known for keeping things amicable for both parties, even after the end of his first marriage.
His ex-wife and model, Miranda Kerr, appeared on a recent episode of The Kyle and Jackie O Show, where she revealed, “Yeah, I mean, honestly, especially when you have children, it shouldn’t be any other way. Like, the needs of the child always has to come first, and it needs to be harmonious.”
“And you know what? They’re gonna be in your life for the rest of your life because you have a child together, so you just [need to] be peaceful,” she added.
Bloom hasn’t been spotted in a new relationship, focusing on his new movie, The Cut, that is now in theaters.
