Congratulations are in order for Daniel Neeson, the youngest son of Hollywood actor Liam Neeson, who announced his recent engagement to his long-time girlfriend, Natalie Ackerman. He popped the question on a romantic boat ride over the weekend in New York City on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Daniel shared the official photos, taken by People, on his Instagram, as well as Instagram stories of his fiancée showing off her engagement ring. His stories also included photos of the couple attending a restaurant to celebrate the occasion.
In an exclusive with People, Daniel gave a heartwarming response about the next chapter of his life and his fiancée.
“Yesterday I got to ask my best friend to join me on this journey called life,” he said, “I could write novels on why I love Natalie, but there’s something deeper, something so cosmic about our relationship that I know we’re meant to be in this universe together.”
His sentiment ran even deeper when mentioning his late mother and Parent Trap actress, Natasha Richardson.
“I see my mother in Nat, I see life in Nat, and reality just got a whole lot sweeter with a ring on it,” Daniel added. “Love wins!”
Daniel is the youngest son of Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson’s marriage. The couple welcomed Daniel in 1996, with Richardson having died from complications from a ski accident when he was 13 in 2009.
Daniel and Natasha started dating in 2017, and later graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, where they first met, in 2019. Neeson’s son didn’t follow in the actor’s footsteps and is an entrepreneur, having launched an eco-friendly, charitable clothing line called Pine Outfitters during college. He also co-founded De Nada Tequila, while Natasha keeps her life fairly private, working as a brand communications manager.
