Rumours are now flooding the internet that the viral “Phillies Karen” has been banned from attending the Philadelphia Eagles’ NFL games, but here’s what’s actually going on.
The mystery woman, who still hasn’t been identified, went viral over the weekend after snatching a baseball from a kid during a Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlins game.
In the video, a dad catches a home run ball and gives it to his 10-year-old son, but the woman nicknamed “Phillies Karen” storms over and demands he give it to her.
All kinds of rumours are emerging that she’s been identified as various women, fired from her job and now banned from the Eagles’ football games, but is it actually true?

Has the viral ‘Phillies Karen’ really been banned from Philadelphia Eagles NFL games?
No, the woman in the video hasn’t been banned from going to Philadelphia Eagles games. The fake rumour started on Facebook, where a viral post claimed the Eagles’ CEO Jeffrey Lurie has permanently banned her.
“BREAKING NEWS: Jeffrey Lurie – CEO of Philadelphia Eagles – just shocked the sports community when he announced that he would ‘permanently ban’ the woman dubbed ‘Phillies Karen’ from entering Lincoln Financial Field,” it said.
“In addition, he sent a warning to the entire Eagles sports fan community: ‘Anyone who is competitive, aggressive, and disregards mutual respect – like the woman in the recent incident, is…”
The post ended with the words “read more” next to an article link, making it look like a real news story. It quickly spread across the internet, fooling everyone. However, the whole thing is fake, and Jeffrey Lurie hasn’t spoken out.
Right now, the “Phillies Karen” still hasn’t identified herself and any statements online claiming to be from her are also fake. People are creating false images of her using AI.
The only person who has spoken out is the dad, who told NBC10: “We’re just trying to make this week about him [his son for his birthday]. I felt like super dad putting that ball in his glove and giving him a hug.”
“I didn’t even see her walk up, and as she reached for my arm, she just yelled in my ear, ‘That’s my ball!’ like super loud. I jumped out of my skin, and I was like, you know, like ‘Why are you here?’ you know, ‘Go away.’ And she’s like, ‘That’s my ball! You stole out of – those are from our seats’.”
