Yungblud Wore Rock Icon Iggy Pop’s Leather Pants to the VMAs

Yungblud made a fashion statement at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards.

The British rocker, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, went shirtless with low-slung leather pants as he took the stage to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the live awards show on Sept. 7.

After kissing a cross necklace that Osbourne gifted him years earlier, Yungblud, 28, performed three of the late Black Sabbath frontman’s songs— “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home— the latter song with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.  During the performance, he added a long, black fur-trimmed coat to his look.

Speaking with Nylon magazine, the young rocker revealed that his pants used to belong to the Godfather of Punk. “I’ve actually got Iggy Pop’s leather pants on,” Yungblud said. “Richard [Stark] from Chrome [Hearts] basically said, ‘If you can fit in them, you can wear them.”

“Yeah, I’m sample size and I’m vibing,” he added.

This is not the first time Yungblud has talked about the pants. In a past Instagram video, he revealed that he had to get into fighting shape to fit into the pants once owned by the 78-year-old Iggy and the Stooges frontman.

“I’ve got a crazy pair of leather pants that used to belong to Iggy Pop,” the singer announced in the throwback clip. “These are mental, right? And I found them, and they were tiny. …But these pants, you know, you find a pair of pants that you want and you have to get down to. I’m like, these are size 28 pants, so I was like, right, I’m gonna do it. So, I cut the lager for a bit. Started boxing to get into these pants, right?”

Yungblud then showed that the pants had “Iggy” embroidered inside of them. “So I’m just like tense are Iggy’s leathers, man… They smell surprisingly good. They got the voodoo, you know what I mean?” he added.

Yungblud’s Coat & Necklace Were Special, Too

Yungblud has a special connection to Chrome Hearts, the company that gave him Iggy Pop’s pants.  The luxury brand is owned by Richard and Laurie Lynn Stark, the parents of his girlfriend, Jesse Jo Stark.

While speaking with Nylon, Yungblud revealed that his girlfriend designed the coat he wore to the VMAs. “Jesse Jo, my love, made this coat,” he said. “It’s epic, man.”

Another key part of Yungblud’s VMAs look was the gold cross necklace given to him by Osbourne.

After Osbourne died, Yungblud revealed the necklace was his most prized possession. “I will never forget you,” he captioned a photo of one of his last moments with Osbourne. “You will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross around my neck is the most precious thing I own. “
