Sabrina Carpenter has secured her second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, as Man’s Best Friend storms to the top with record-breaking numbers.

The set debuts with 366,000 equivalent album units in the United States for the week ending 4 September, according to Luminate.
Traditional album sales contributed 224,000 units, both career bests for the 25-year-old singer-songwriter, according to Billboard.
The new album also marks 2025’s biggest debut week by a female artist across both streams and sales. The singer now joins Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd in scoring the year’s three strongest releases.
‘MAN’S BEST FRIEND’ VINYL VERSIONS
Fans fuelled sales through a variety of editions, including 13 vinyl versions, four CDs, two cassette formats and multiple digital packages.
Vinyl and signed Sabrina Carpenter’s editions fetched prices equivalent to over R700 in South Africa, showing the global collector demand behind the project.
STREAMING NUMBERS
Streaming delivered another milestone. Man’s Best Friend generated 141,000 streaming-equivalent units, equal to 184.11 million official streams.
That makes it the largest streaming debut by a woman this year. “I’m absolutely blown away,” Sabrina Carpenter said in a statement.
“This album means the world to me, and seeing the love from fans everywhere, including South Africa, is just surreal.”

The album’s lead single Manchild had already topped the Billboard Hot 100 in June, boosting anticipation.
Sabrina Carpenter’s success also ends a five-month drought for women at No. 1, following Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine.

Her previous leader, Short n’ Sweet, hit No. 1 in 2024 and returns to the chart’s top 10 this week, underscoring her growing catalogue strength.
