AUGUSTA, Ga. (WJBF) – Court documents released Monday show several alleged cases of abuse between murder suspect Hajir Talebzadeh and his ex-wife Melissa Domingo.
Talebzadeh is accused of shooting and killing Domingo and her mother on Sunday, September 6th in the parking lot of Best Buy in Augusta.
The pair divorced in November 2024.
A judge found there was “an established pattern of psychological abuse, control and threats by Talebzadeh against Domingo and further found credible testimony regarding animal abuse on the depart of Talebzadeh.”
Documents also show that the Aggravated Assault charges against Domingo were dismissed August 1st, 2025.
Domingo shot Talebzadeh in December of 2021 during a domestic dispute. The court found that she “was reasonable in her belief that use of force was necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to herself.”

The custody agreement on the child that the suspect and the deceased shared are laid out in great detail. The 5-year-old boy went back and forth between his parents’ homes and his grandmothers’ homes as the court determined who was the “most-fit” parent to have custody, documents say. It was eventually determined that Domingo should have primary custody due to “how controlling and demanding the father’s behaviors had become.”
Records state that Domingo “testified about an incident in which the father [Talebzdeh] had pulled a gun on her and fired it; fortunately , she stated that the bullet had hit a trashcan instead of her. She testified about another incident in which the father had pushed her head into a toilet bowl because he believed that she had been cheating on him.”
“The father denied all allegations of domestic violence against him and seemed to suggest that the mother’s [Domingo] behaviors towards him had become emotionally abusive. The father testified that the mother had started calling him derogatory names and expressed that she was no longer attracted to him.”
Documents also state that there are “case reports from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department wherein it appears that Talebzadeh’s girlfriend (at the time) attempted suicide, appears at the hospital with injuries consistent with either domestic abuse or human trafficking….”
