Grim New Details Released in Discovery of Body in D4vd’s Tesla

The discovery of a body in the trunk of a Tesla registered to rapper D4vd has generated headlines.

However, some additional grim details have now been released. Some things still are not known: The identity of the human remains, and the cause of death, for starters. How the body got into the trunk and who put it there are also not clear.

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was in Minneapolis on Sept. 9 on his Withered World Tour.

The Body Was Discovered Inside a Bag at Hollywood Tow, Reports Say

The additional details are grisly:

  • The body was discovered at Hollywood Tow after being impounded there when “someone reported it abandoned” in the Hollywood Hills. Workers “reported a strong odor” coming from the Tesla, according to NBC Los Angeles.
  • The body was discovered inside a bag in the Tesla’s front truck, the television station reported. The woman’s body was “wrapped in a unique container,” NBC Los Angeles reported.
  • The “remains were not intact and that identification will be delayed because of the decomposition of the victim,” sources told NBC News.
  • The Los Angeles Times reported that the remains amounted to a “head and torso.”
  • Homicide detectives believe the body is that of a woman, NBC Los Angeles reported. However, KTLA-TV reported that the remains were so deteriorated that gender was not clear.

D4vd is cooperating with the investigation, according to NBC Los Angeles, citing a statement from his spokeperson.

A source told ABC News that the Tesla “is one of several vehicles owned by the musician,” and that many people have access to his vehicles.

The victim “appears to have been dead for some time,” ABC News added. The car was abandoned for at least five days, and it had Texas license plates on it, according to Rolling Stone.
