On Tuesday morning, news broke that a decomposing body had been found in a car belonging to 20-year-old music artist D4vd while he was in the middle of his world tour.
D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was preparing for a concert in Minneapolis when the news broke, as the 20-year-old artist is in the midst of a world tour that is set to include the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Chicago next summer.
The grim discovery obviously led to a bit of uncertainty about the future of D4vd’s tour. However, the artist has made a pretty telling decision in that regard.
What We Know
- A body was found inside a Tesla belonging to D4vd at an impound lot in Hollywood.
- The car was brought to the impound lot after “someone reported it abandoned” in Hollywood Hills, and police were called after workers “reported a strong odor” coming from the Tesla, according to NBC Los Angeles.
- The badly decomposed body was discovered inside a bag in the Tesla’s front trunk and was not intact, with The Los Angeles Times reporting that the remains amounted to a “head and torso.”
- Detectives believe that the body is female. However, the remains were so decomposed that authorities have said it will take some time to properly identify the body.
- ABC News reports that the Tesla “is one of several vehicles owned by the musician,” and that many people have access to his vehicles.
D4vd Continues Tour
The discovery comes as D4vd is in the midst of his “Withered” world tour. As the news broke on Tuesday, the artist was preparing for a performance in Minneapolis, leading to some doubt
However, D4vd made a pretty telling decision as authorities investigate the grisly discovery. While he will fully cooperate with the investigation, he will also be continuing his world tour.
“D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” a spokesperson for the singer told NBC Los Angeles on Tuesday.
This is a rather telling move as it suggests that the artist does not expect to be an active part of the investigation back in Los Angeles and will continue to cooperate from afar.
It’s also worth noting that as the investigation begins, D4vd has not been named as a suspect and has not been accused of wrongdoing.
While authorities continue to search for answers, D4vd will continue performing in front of his fans.

Eventually, he embraced music fully.
