Charlie Kirk was shot and killed yesterday, 10 September, while speaking at a college event in Utah. Since then, there have been possible sightings of a shooter, with police and federal agents still searching for the person responsible.
The conservative activist, aged 31, was speaking at an outdoor Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University when he was hit in the neck by a single shot. The attack happened in front of thousands of students and supporters, leaving the crowd scrambling for safety.

Authorities believe the shot was fired from the roof of the Losee Centre, about 200 metres away from the stage. Two videos from the scene have been shared on Twitter that show possible sightings of the shooter after Charlie Kirk was shot and killed.
One video captures the aftermath of the shot, with a figure seen moving on the roof. BBC Verify checked the footage but said the image quality was too poor to actually make out what the figure on the roof was. Also it cannot verify when it was filmed. But OSINTtechnical claimed that the footage was taken ‘in the moments before Charlie Kirk was shot’.
A second video shows people filming a person on the roof before the event began.

According to the BBC, police said that the suspect was dressed in all black and acted alone. Initially, two people were arrested. But both were later released and “there are no current ties to the shooting with either of these individuals.”
The manhunt is still going on
Police now say they do not have any confirmed suspects in custody, and that the shooter is still at large. The Utah Department of Public Safety said in a statement, “There is an ongoing investigation and manhunt for the shooter.”
They described the incident as a “targeted attack.” They added, “The shooter is believed to have fired from the roof of a building down to the location of the public event in the student courtyard.”
The FBI director, Kash Patel, also confirmed, “Our investigation continues and we will continue to release information in interest of transparency.”
US president Donald Trump called Kirk’s killing “a dark moment for America.” He described him as “a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate and the country that he loves so much.”
Utah Valley University will remain closed until Monday, with all classes suspended, according to the university. Security remains tight around the campus.
