Charlie Kirk’s wife shared a haunting final message just hours before he was killed

The wife of Charlie Kirk shared what is now a haunting message on Twitter, just hours before her husband was shot and killed at a university event. Charlie Kirk was killed yesterday, after he was shot whilst speaking at a Utah Valley University event.

On Wednesday (September 10th), 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was sitting under a canopy at a TPUSA event for The American Comeback Tour. As he was addressing the crowds he was shot at. This happened at around 12.10pm local time, approximately 20 minutes into his presentation. It was later confirmed he had died from his injuries.

He leaves behind a wife Erika and two young children. Charlie and Erika got married in 2021. They share two children, a daughter born in August 2022, and a son born in May 2024. Erika Kirk is a former Miss Arizona USA and basketball player, who is currently studying for a doctorate in Biblical studies at Liberty University.

Just hours before Charlie was shot dead, his wife Erika shared a Bible verse about seeking help during difficult times. “Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” she said on Twitter.

Erika runs her own ministry as well as a faith-driven clothing brand. She had previously stopped posting on her account, and only resumed posting messages two days before the fatal shooting. Another, shared a day before, read: “Psalm 34:8 – Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”.

Now, countless people are sharing condolences under her posts. “Jesus is holding you in his warm embrace. We are heartbroken,” one said. Another added: “May the Lord Jesus give you strength. We are praying for you and your family.”

Today, authorities investigating what happened have said there have been “a few breakthroughs”. One suspect is being investigated, and it was said they “appear to be of college age” and “blended in well with the college institution”. The FBI confirmed there is a video and photos of the suspect, which are yet to be released.
