Hunter Kozak was the last person to speak to right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk in the literal seconds leading up to his fatal shooting, and now he has spoken out.
Charlie Kirk was visiting Utah Valley University for a stop on his American Comeback Tour when he was shot in the neck by a gunman still currently on the loose. Though he was administered medical attention, the longtime Donald Trump advocate succumbed to his injuries a short while later.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!” the President said in response.
Witnesses have since come forward to share insight into the attack, and Hunter Kozak posted a video about his “rough” 24 hours.
Hunter Kozak wanted to talk with Charlie Kirk after a school shooting

TikToker Hunter Kozak, whose had a “rough 24 hours”, wanted to debate Charlie Kirk after his comments about the Minneapolis shooting. Charlie had suggested that transgender people were increasingly responsible for mass shootings, something proven to be incorrect.
“First Nashville, now this. How many times makes a trend?” Charlie said at the time, with Hunter responding, “Probably the only way to do this is to have an unGodly amount of time to parse through all of the 6,000 mass shootings that have ever happened in the history of America.”
Hunter went down to Charlie’s UVU debate, where he is currently studying mathematics, to address some of the comments he made connecting trans people to mass shootings. As we know, just 20 minutes into the event, a gunman shot Charlie while he was speaking to Hunter.
“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” Hunter had asked, with Charlie arguing that it was “Too many.”

Hunter then asked about the total mass shootings between 2015 and 2025, which was when Charlie offered his literal last words: “Counting or not counting gang violence?”
Though he shared few beliefs with the late Charlie Kirk, Hunter condemned those who are seemingly happy about his death.
Addressing those celebrating Charlie’s passing, Hunter said: “First off, you sick f**king psychos that think this is the answer, it’s not. I don’t know what else to say. Charlie had two kids and a wife, and not to make this about me, but I have two kids and a wife. It’s a tragedy and it’s hard to grapple with.”
“He is still a human being, have we forgotten that?” he added.
