Manchester City will be without John Stones and Rayan Ait-Nouri for Sunday’s derby showdown with Manchester United but are set to welcome Phil Foden back from injury.
Stones started City’s first three games of the new Premier League season but withdrew from the England squad last week with a muscle issue.
The former Everton star endured an injury-ridden 2024-25 campaign with his latest issue ruling him out of the visit of United this weekend.
Ait-Nouri meanwhile came off in the defeat to Tottenham but was back the following week to play the full 90 minutes against Brighton prior to the international break.
City will also be without Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush with the full extent of the latter’s knee injury still being assessed.

‘The rest are fine, apparently,’ Guardiola told a press conference on Friday.
‘Stones, as well, is a doubt. It’s not a big, big issue but is a doubt for Sunday.

‘[Marmoush] has to make the last tests, but a few weeks I think. Before or after the [next] international break he’ll be ready.’
While he did not mention them by name, Guardiola’s update would suggest Josko Gvardiol and Abdukodir Khusanov are available again.
The Croatia international has not played this season but did return to light training before the international break. Khusanov meanwhile came off in the game against Brighton.
Savinho also appears in line to return with Guardiola confirming Foden is also available.
