BTS fans in South Africa might be closer than ever to witnessing history.
Big Concerts, one of the country’s top event promoters, has dropped a strong hint that K-pop superstars BTS could tour South Africa.
BTS CONCERT IN CAPE TOWN
A possible Cape Town performance is likely to be part of the line-up. If confirmed, this would mark the group’s first performance on African soil, according to Time Out.
The speculation began when Big Concerts posted a cryptic message on social media: “Should BTS light up South Africa with a live show?”
ARMYS IN SOUTH AFRICA RESPOND
The response from locals was immediate and overwhelming. Thousands of fans, known as the ARMY, expressed their excitement.
South African comedian Nina Hastie commented: “If you’re doing this just to tease us, please don’t. I might not survive the heartache.”
BTS FANS STORM THE AIRWAVES
The conversation then moved to Cape Town airwaves. Kfm 94.5 joined the buzz by asking listeners if they would attend a BTS show in South Africa.
Fans responded passionately, with one listener saying on air that they would “do nearly anything to see BTS live.”
WHO IS BTS?
BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan, are a seven-member group that redefined K-pop’s global reach. RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook transformed the genre into a worldwide movement.
Their hits such as Dynamite, which boasts over two billion YouTube views, and Boy With Luv featuring Halsey, cemented their status as one of the biggest acts of all time.
The group recently completed their compulsory military service in South Korea and are preparing a highly anticipated comeback.
A BIG COMEBACK
In a livestream on Weverse, BTS confirmed plans to release a new album in July 2026. Many industry insiders believe a world tour will follow.
With South African fans pleading for inclusion, Cape Town could be on the verge of welcoming BTS.
As Big Concerts teases, the possibility feels more real than ever. South Africa may yet become the first African stop for the world’s biggest boy band.
