Trader Joe’s is Bringing Back Their Fan-Favorite Fall Sourdough Flavor, and Fans Are Saying It’s ‘Perfect for French Toast’

Trader Joe’s has dropped its “Fearless Flyer” filled with the best of their fall foods, and it’s making us hungry. We look forward to this time of year to see what they’ve come up with, and it seems some items are returning, while others are new to the spread. We’re thrilled to try the Maple Spiced Nut Mix, Harvest Vegetable Hash Egg White Bites, Pumpkin Spice Mini Sheet Cake and Spiced Cider.

The other product that caught our eye is their ever-popular Apple Cinnamon Sourdough Bread. The tangy, spongy trademark loaf we’ve come to know and love at Trader Joe’s has been laced with tender apple pieces and strings of cinnamon and brown sugar. It’s a combination taste experience that we seek in most things we consume.

What to Make with Trader Joe’s Apple Cinnamon Sourdough Bread

We love the idea of creating an epic French toast breakfast, complete with butter and maple syrup, or crafting it into a warm French toast casserole with the same finishes. It would also make a fantastically crunchy grilled cheese with gooey Havarti or white cheddar.

But we wouldn’t look down on you if you simply toasted it and slathered it with butter, Trader Joe’s Apple Pie Spread or humble peanut butter. We’re interested in having it for breakfast with an iced latte made with TJ’s Pumpkin Cold Brew Concentrate, topped with their Salted Maple Cold Foam Creamer.

What Fans Are Saying

Last year’s reviews on the sourdough are confirming our suspicions – shoppers love it. “ Got a loaf, picked up a jar of the maple butter and tried the pairing out tonight. Can confirm, incredible! I need to try toasting too”, said one Reddit user. “That bread must make awesome turkey sandwiches”, exclaimed another. And after seeing this tip, we think we’d make it with a slice of gouda.

“Picked some up yesterday and immediately made a grilled cheese with it …10/10”, said another person. “Literally a treasure”, commented one more.

The hefty almost 18-ounce loaf retails for $4.99 and will only be available during the fall season. And according to social media posts raving about it, it’s likely not wise to wait around or you might miss out.
