When you think of fall ingredients and flavors, pumpkin, apple, cinnamon, cranberry, winter squash, cider, caramel, sweet potato, brown butter and maple likely come to mind. Maple, specifically, is showing up in droves on Trader Joe’s shelves in various ways.
Notably, their Butter with Brown Sugar and Maple Syrup, Mini Maple-Flavored Marshmallows, Salted Maple Ice Cream, Maple Breakfast Chicken Sausage and Maple Pecan Granola. One to relaunch recently that we’re already swooning over is Trader Joe’s Maple Spiced Nut Mix.
Ways to Serve Trader Joe’s Maple Spiced Nut Mix
With its trademark rich sweetness, maple syrup is paired with woodsy rosemary as a buttery glaze for nutty almonds and pecans in this irresistible snack mix. Pepitas are mixed in for a bit more crunch and sweetened dried cranberries are added tartness for the perfect flavor combo.
As Trader Joe’s so eloquently puts it, “Sweet, crunchy, and with just a touch of heat and rosemary-tinged herbaceous notes, every bite of our Maple Spiced Nut Mix evokes the essence of autumn”.
The concoction is perfect as-is, to be snacked on while cozying up on the couch with a good book or watching football on a Sunday afternoon. They’re also great alongside various cheeses (Trader Joe’s suggests their Cinnamon Toscano and we don’t disagree), cured meats and olives for a fall snack spread.
I can also see it served nicely before Thanksgiving dinner as part of an appetizer spread with crackers, toast points, fig and apple jams and juicy grapes.
If you’re not into nutty snack mixes yourself, this would also make for a nice birthday gift for someone in your life who celebrates an autumn birthday, or save it to offer as a holiday gift for a family member who loves an edible gift.
