Thirsty for Oatly’s New Beverage?

Starting on November 1, Oatly is adding Hot Cocoa Oatmilk to its line-up. Available nationally at Whole Foods Market, the chocolate beverage can be found in the refrigerated section. While it is sold cold, the beverage is designed to be drunk warm.

While many people choose Oatly for the vitamins and minerals in this particular brand, the flavor and luscious mouthfeel keep them coming back for more. When a plant-based, vegan beverage satisfies, the good for you and good for the planet alternative becomes an easy choice.

Adding a seasonal beverage is smart for Oatly. While the brand has found a niche with its barista style oatmilk, it is the multiple options that appeal to a wide audience. From original to low fat, there is a beverage for any occasion and use. Expanding the line shows that it wants its fans to have multiple choices.

Although Oatly does have a chocolate drink, the Hot Cocoa Oatly fills a gap that is not being currently addressed. Whether it is reminiscent of a favorite childhood beverage or thirsty for that sweet sip while watching the snow fall, Oatly wants everyone to be able to enjoy that drink whatever their beverage preferences are.

Heating Oatly Hot Cocoa Is Easy.

While Oatly Hot Cocoa is stored cold, it has been designed to be enjoyed warm. Heating the beverage is not overly complicated, but it does take some care.

The key to heating oatmilk is to raise the temperature slowly. Similar to how milk can burn, the plant-based beverage should not reach a rapid boil. Gentle heating is imperative.

If oatmilk heats too quickly, the starch can thicken, which can create separation or clumping. Drinkers want a smooth, creamy beverage not one that they can chew.

For the perfect Oatly Hot Cocoa, the wait is worth the deliciousness. Low and slow heating will make that winter beverage even more enjoyable.
