Apple debuted their latest iPhone models and showed off all the impressive features including fast-charge capability.
According to the tech giant, the iPhone 17 can charge up to 50 percent in just 20 minutes.
But Apple loyalists shouldn’t get too excited just yet, because there’s a catch.
iPhone 17 owners will need a 40W adapter paired with a USB-C charging cable in order to unlock the phone’s full capacity. Naturally, the 40W adapter is sold separately.
According to multiple reports, the exact specifications for the necessary charging block (USB-PD 3.2 SPR AVS, can only be found in the new Apple model. While any USB-C charger will work for the iPhone 17, only the Apple model will get users the fastest charge.
If users don’t need the highest speed charge available, a 30W adapter paired with a MagSafe charger can get your phone from 0 to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. However, both items are sold separate from the new device.
Both the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter and the Qi2 25W-certified MagSafe Charger will be available for $39 each. An extra long charging cable can be purchased for an additional $10.
