Ned Fulmer broke the internet three years ago after he was exposed for having an affair with a co-worker. The creator was part of The Try Guys, a popular YouTube channel made up of four people – Keith Habersberger, Ned Fulmer, Zach Kornfeld, and Eugene Lee Yang. Ned admitted to cheating on his wife, Ariel, after pictures and videos of him with another woman went viral.
At the time, Ned released a statement to Instagram, saying: “Family should have always been my priority, but I lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship. I’m sorry for any pain that my actions may have caused to the guys and the fans, but most of all to Ariel. The only thing that matters right now is my marriage and my children, and that’s where I am going to focus my attention.”
In a brand new interview, Ned finally breaks his three-year-long silence and reveals where he and Ariel stand now.
He explained that after confessing to cheating, he started attending couples therapy with Ariel to help solve their issues.
“That was most devastating to work through and to realise how much pain I had caused her,” he told People. “If I were looking at a past version of myself, I’d really want to change the way I’d been interacting with her.”
Ned has been spending the past three years “trying to understand why I had done what I had done,” and focusing on his healing journey.
After his affair blew up on X and TikTok, Ned said he avoided social media like the plague.
“For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet,” said Ned. “I didn’t think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health.”
Before the scandal, Ned had been creating videos with The Try Guys since 2014. He was kicked out of the group after the affair was made public, especially because the alleged person he cheated with was someone who worked for the channel.
Even though his YouTube career didn’t survive the affair, his marriage did.
“It’s certainly stronger than it was before,” Ned told People when asked about how things are with Ariel.
“We have a much clearer sense of boundaries – understanding and respecting each other’s boundaries — as well as integrity and being direct with each other, even when it might be unpleasant.”
Ned has just announced a new podcast, Rock Bottom, where he’ll interview people who have hit rock bottom in life and learned from it. Ariel is the featured guest in his first episode.
