Love Island’s Tasha is ditching dating for religion in a rogue new reality series

Tasha Ghouri has had one of the wildest post Love Island careers of any Islander, and her next move might just be the most unexpected yet. She’s taking things in an entirely different direction by signing up for BBC Two’s new show Pilgrimage.

After entering the villa in 2022 and becoming one of that year’s most talked-about cast members, Tasha went on to try out Strictly Come Dancing and even appeared on Channel 4’s brutal Celebrity SAS.

The series brings together a group of celebrities from all walks of life and sends them on a spiritual journey along historic pilgrimage routes. While previous seasons have taken place across Europe, this one is closer to home, with filming currently underway in Northumberland.

The area played a huge role in spreading Christianity in England, and the group will be tackling routes including The Pilgrim’s Way, which leads to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne.

A TV insider told The Sun that the casting might raise eyebrows: “A former Love Islander with no apparent religious leanings isn’t the obvious choice for a show exploring faith. But that’s part of the point – it mixes people from all kinds of backgrounds, with or without faith, and sparks deeper conversations about their different world views.

“It’ll be a real culture shock for Tasha – the windswept Northumberland coast is a far cry from the Love Island villa.”

She joins the likes of presenter Jeff Brazier, The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness and The Traitors’ Harry Clark.

The move comes just weeks after Tasha celebrated her 27th birthday with a trip to Barcelona, following her exit from Celebrity SAS. Despite being one of the most determined recruits, she left alongside Chloe Burrows and Louis Spence in the latest series.

With Pilgrimage, Tasha is stepping into completely new territory – and whether she finds faith or not, it’s safe to say nobody saw this one coming.
