Former Love Island star Sam Gowland was rushed to the hospital in Bali, Indonesia, after he was bitten on the ankle by a “highly venomous” snake native to the area.
Sam, who took part in season three of Love Island and later Geordie Shore, had only been on the island for a few hours when he stepped on a “bloooody snake.” Naturally, the creature bit him.
Sharing a picture of the dead snake on his Instagram story, Sam wrote: “Can’t believe this!!! Just my luck, day two in Bali and I’ve only stepped on a bloooody snake and it bit my ankle when I was getting off my motorbike!! Ankles gone swollen, anyone know if it’s poisonous or if I should go hospital or somet?”
Though unconfirmed, the markings seem to suggest that Sam’s attacker was some form of krait, most likely a Malayan or blue krait. Growing to a length of 43 inches, a krait’s venom is “highly neurotoxic” with a 60 to 70 per cent fatality rate if left untreated.
Sam soon took himself off to the hospital, where doctors administered the relevant anti-venom to halt further injury. Krait venom can lead to neuromuscular paralysis, shock, respiratory failure, and cardiovascular interruptions without the correct anti-venom.

“Well, here we go then bloody hell haha. Apparently, it’s highly venomous & has to have anti-venom too,” he wrote in an update.
Sam Gowland must have recovered from his snake bite
After a close brush with what could have been a very painful death, Sam Gowland moved past his snake bite with some shameless self-plugging.
He asked his followers whether they were happy with their lives, and then urged people who answered no to try out his E-commerce (Ecom) course.

“I can’t stress this enough if I tried!! If you voted for ‘no, I wish I achieved more’, stop what ur doing & message me ECOM!! & give my course a go if you are selected, it will massively massively help you. I guarantee ya!!” he wrote on Instagram.
“The best part of making money online from Ecom is being able to do this every single day from anywhere in the world. If I could give 1 bit of advice for anyone… it would be to take that risk. Get that ecom course, try something new, otherwise you’re going to stay stuck in the same place forever.”
