Conservative influencer and podcaster Candace Owens hosted a Facebook livestream dedicated to her late friend Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated last week. In this video, she talked about the journey of their friendship and how they advised each other in their love lives. Candace also shared the story of how she and Charlie worked together to convince Erika to marry him.
“I was always leaning into Charlie’s analytical mind and making fun of him,” she said.
Charlie and Erika met in 2018 at what started off as a job interview. As they got to know each other over a “very long dinner,” Charlie realised Erika was the one for him.
Candace and Charlie made a game plan to convince Erika she should marry him, based on her last name sounding “dumb”.
“All we have to do is convince her that her last name is terrible,” Candace said she told Charlie. “It’s a practical decision.”
She shared screenshots of a text conversation between her and Charlie.

“It’s going to be the power couple of the century,” said Charlie in a message to Candace. “I need to continue to pray about it.”
“Her last name is so dumb she literally needs you to propose,” Candace responded. “Way too complicated.”
“That’s just who we were, always making fun and always wanting to know what the plan is,” Candace added about the dynamic between her and Charlie. The duo spent a lot of time together in the early days of Turning Point, taking road trips to different universities across the United States.
“Our plan worked, we broke Erika down,” she said. “First came the name shame, then came the wedding, then came the children.”
“Charlie really loved Erika,” she added. “I knew the real Charlie, and Charlie knew the real Candace.”
