Officers searching for missing Leicester teenager Lily Higgins have found a body.
While not yet formally identified, police believe it is Lily and have informed her family, who are being supported by specialists.
The 18-year-old left her home in Torridon Close at 2.30 on Wednesday and was reported missing that evening.
Her mum, Joanna Swindin, previously told Metro her ‘smart and witty’ daughter had left her phone and bank card at home and was unlikely to have gone to meet up with anyone.
Friends had described her as vulnerable, with members of the public being urged to report any sightings of her.

Joanna said on Thursday: ‘Recently she got upset very easily and we can’t think of anywhere she would go.

‘Family, friends and police have been searching through the night.
‘Lily is so smart and witty. Lily is a very sceptical person so I doubt she would meet up with someone and she avoids public transport and social situations.
‘She likes routine. All the neighbours know she leaves at exactly the same time every day for her walks.
‘She eats at the same time and showers at the same time.
‘She’s not a very social girl but has a heart of gold.’
Leicester Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
