Shocking footage from Kanye West’s upcoming documentary shows him screaming at Kris Jenner over his mental health issues.
In Whose Name?, released in US theatres today, began filming in 2018 and saw director Nico Ballesteros sift through more than 3,000 hours of footage for the film.
During its US premiere, viewers were left shocked by an exchange between West and Jenner, the mother of his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
Kardashian and West began dating in 2012 before marrying two years later.
They share four children – North, 12, Saint, 10, and Chicago, seven, and Psalm, six.
The documentary reportedly shows the breakdown of the relationship between West and Kardashian years before they split in 2021.

The exchange between West and Jenner saw the pair come to blows over his mental health and his stance on medication.
Speaking to Jenner across a table, West said: ‘Y’all demasculated me and made me feel like a piece of s**t. And the only reason you got away with it is because I was medicated.
‘I would rather be dead than be on medication.’
While Jenner responded that ‘it doesn’t matter,’ West repeatedly yelled ‘it does matter’ while balling his fists and jumping on the spot.
Jenner tearfully continued: ‘It matters to us, and you. It doesn’t matter what the internet says. It matters what we think, Ye.
West asks Jenner if she thinks she affected his mental health, to which she replies yes, adding: ‘I love you. I don’t want you to be not perfect. I love you. And I want my daughter to love you the way you want her to love you.’

On a clip shared by The Shade Room on Instagram, viewers said they were left ‘horrified’ by the argument and praised Jenner for remaining calm when faced with West’s ‘aggressive’ outburst.
‘Kris better then me I’m calling the police babes😭,’ __.princess.__k commented.
Allthatval wrote: ‘Nah, dealing with Kanye had to have been the most scariest thing. Idk how the Kardashians did it !!!’
La_mandy_j heaped praise on Jenner, writing: ‘I strive to be as loving and caring as Kris because everyone needs someone with this much calmness and reassurance in their life ❤️.’
Joybreonna added: ‘Everybody in that house was way too calm after that grown man started yelling at that older woman.’
Others compared the clip to another, where West and Michael Che had a calm confrontation following the rapper’s controversial Saturday Night Live appearance in 2018, in which he wore a MAGA hat on stage and launched into a pro-Donald Trump rant.

Kavaamanda said: ‘The way he is calm while talking to men and the way he is aggressive with women 😂.’
‘See how he was so aggressive with a woman, but so calm with a man,’ kolouredbykayla__ echoed.
West has been open about his mental health issues in the past, revealing earlier this year that he had previously been misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder and had since been diagnosed with autism.
Speaking on The Download podcast, he said: ‘I went to this doctor … My wife [Bianca Censori] took me to do that because she said, “Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar, I’ve seen bipolar before.” And I’ve come to find that it’s really a case of autism that I have.’
He continued: ‘Autism takes you to a Rain Man thing. I’ma wear this Trump hat because I like Trump in general.’ And then when people tell you to not do it, you just get on that one point. And that’s my problem.’
In Whose Name? is in US theatres now. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
