As temperatures begin to cool and leaves begin to fall, it can only mean one thing. Halloween is fast approaching.
Whether you plan on rewatching your favourite horror films or you decide to try something new, streaming platforms are beginning to gear up for the start of scary movie season.
But in what seems to be a cruel twist, Netflix has confirmed that it is axing a string of legendary horror classics only weeks before October 31.
Among the films to be taken down is the first Saw and follow up sequel in the franchise.
These will only be available to watch until September 30 before they are removed for good.

Following them is another popular film, The Cabin In The Woods, which stars Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Connolly.

On October 1, the dystopian thriller Don’t Worry Darling, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles will also be leaving.
Added to the list are three other horror movies, including The Circle on October 15, The Gore on September 26 and Possession on September 30.
But it’s not just the horror genre that is taking a hit.
Among some other casualties on the streaming platform will be Celebrity Gogglebox, Ray Winstone’s Sicily, Supernatural Academy and RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars.
Fans of the hit US programme Shameless fans will also be heartbroken to find out that all 11 seasons of the drama are being removed.

However, with some huge titles coming to Netflix soon, with Cillian Muprhy’s Steve, Monster: The Ed Gein Story and House of Guinness, it might not be all doom and gloom.
Earlier this month, Netflix also recently added Anyone but You, which was slated by critics but dominated at the box office.
Hitting screens in 2023, the ‘delightful’ rom-com starred Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney and Top Gun: Mavericks Glen Powell.
Based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, the movie centred on Bea (Sydney) and Ben (Glen), who first cross paths at a coffee shop in Boston.
The pair hatch a plan and decide to help each other out – to make his ex jealous and encourage her parents to stop pushing her to get back with hers.
